Mirosław Szybowicz, PhD, DSc, titular professor at Poznań University of Technology, currently serves as a Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Technical Physics and Chairman of the Council of Materials Engineering Discipline at Poznań University of Technology (for the 2020-2024 term). The main fields of research and academic interests include such research areas as nanotechnology, carbon materials (graphene, graphite, carbon nanotubes, nano- and micro-diamond thin-film structures, preparation and characterization of glassy carbon), and the use of microscopic techniques and optical spectroscopy in material research. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Molecular Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań and the Scientific Council of the Doctoral School at Poznań University of Technology, as well as a coordinator in the discipline of materials engineering. A delegate on behalf of Poznań University of Technology at the Scientific and Industrial Center for New Energy Technologies (CeNTE). He is an author and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers included in the Journal Citation Reports list. He has actively served on the editorial committees of journals (Crystals, Materials, Journal of Spectroscopy) and scientific conferences. He has supervised 4 PhDs, and he currently provides academic auspices and supervision for another 2 PhD students. Member of the Polish Physical Society (PTF) and the Polish Materials Science Society (PTM).
