He began his career at Bank Handlowy in Warsaw (Citigroup) more than 20 years ago, gaining experience in the corporate and retail areas. He was among the top managers preparing the merger between Kredyt Bank and Bank Zachodni WBK (Santander Group). At Raiffeisen, as the Managing Director of the branch network, he was honored with the title “Leader of the Year” for 2016. He has served on the supervisory boards of many companies, including: Raiffeisen TFI, Credit Information Bureau, Pekao Direct, Xelion Investment House, Central Brokerage House and Pekao Bank Hipoteczny.
In 2017, he was appointed a Vice-President of the Management Board of Bank Pekao overseeing the Retail Banking division. He was responsible for digital transformation and set up the Innovation Lab. During this time, the bank gained modern, innovative products and tools, and received the global EFMA-Accenture Distribution&Marketing Innovation Award in the Digital Distribution&Experience category for the PeoPay application. Marek Tomczuk has significantly contributed to improving the bank’s performance results.
In 2021, he assumed the position of Managing Director at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, where he was responsible for the Products and Financing division until his appointment to the Bank’s Management Board.
He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and International Relations at the Cracow University of Economics and the University of Rzeszów, where he received his PhD in Social Sciences, in the field of Economics and Finance. He graduated from the Leadership Academy program run by the ICAN Institute and the Harvard Business Review. He has participated in many domestic and foreign training courses on management, banking and finance, as well as in strategic projects.
