Joanna Poluszyńska, PHD

PhD in the area of natural sciences in the field of earth science, discipline of geology, specialty – geochemistry, degree obtained at the AGH University. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Opole in chemistry with a specialization in agrobiochemistry. For 25 years, she has been associated with the Łukasiewicz Research Network, which operates under its current name  – the Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials, where she works as Director of the Center for Environmental Engineering in the research department.

She is co-author of two patents, resulting from an ongoing project entitled: “Development of innovative technologies for the use of by-products of biomass combustion in the building materials industry and reclamation of mining and processing waste dumps”. Technologies protected by patents include the use of waste raw materials within the Circular economy.

– Pat. 240508 “Raw material kit for making Portland clinker”.

– Pat. 239674 “Application of fly ash from biomass combustion in utility fluidized bed boilers for disposal of sewage sludge”.

She has completed more than 50 R&D works and research projects in the areas of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, environmental monitoring, waste management, utilization of waste materials, development of new products, technologies and analytical methods. She is the author of 47 scientific publications, including publications in scientific scoring journals.

She is an expert at The National Center for Research and Development and National Found
for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
