Edyta Łaskawiec, BEng, PhD 

Assistant professor at the Department of Environmental Biotechnology, Silesian University of Technology, water and wastewater process engineer, science popularizer. She researches issues related to circular economy in the water and wastewater sector. She is currently part of a team in the Polish-Norwegian POLNOR project consortium of the National Center for Research and Development, “Shortcut nitrification in activated sludge process treating domestic wastewater – key technology for low-carbon and clean wastewater treatment (SNIT)”. She runs a popular science profile on social media @wastewater_based.doctor, where she talks, i.a., about water quality, wastewater treatment processes, environmental hazards and the climate crisis in a audience-friendly manner. Nominated in this year’s POP SCIENCE Competition for science popularizers, in the website or blog category.
